RSPCA Looks After Pet Owls

The Harry Potter films definitely boosted the desire to have owls and other birds of prey as pets. But not all animals make good pets.

Unfortunately many pets, exotic or not, are purchased on impulse due to a new trend, commercial, TV show, or movie and after a short time the appeal wears off and these animals are left in the wild or at a shelter.

The RSPCA of the UK recently announced that they have been treating many pet birds of prey that they found in the wild. The UK has had a harsh winter and these pets are not faring well in the wild.

The RSPCA is now increasing their efforts to cut down on exotic animals being kept as neglected pets.
