Big 12 Football: Preseason All-Big 12 Team Announced

The Big 12 Conference announced on Wednesday the 2013 Preseason All-Big 12 Football Team, as well as the preseason individual awards. Reigning Big 12 champion Kansas State led the way with five selections on the preseason team.

Baylor Bears running back Lache Seastrunk was named the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, while TCU Horned Frogs defensive end Devonte Field, the conference's only unanimous selection to the preseason team, is the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

Running back Charles Sims of the West Virginia Mountaineers, a transfer from Houston who has just one year of eligibility left this season, is the newcomer of the year.

The Kansas Jayhawks and West Virginia Mountaineers were the only teams?in the Big 12 teams to not have a player make the preseason team.

College football in the Big 12 starts with two games?on Friday, August 30. Texas Tech faces SMU, while Kansas State takes on North Dakota State, the two-time FCS champions.
