Iran parliament holds first post-election session

(AP) ? Iran's parliament holds its first session after Friday's parliamentary election.

During Monday's session there was no immediate move to summon President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

On Feb. 7 Iran's parliament decided to summon Ahmadinejad for questioning over a long list of accusations, the first such summons of an Iranian president since 1979 when the revolution installed an Islamic government in Iran.

Under the law Ahmadinejad can appear at parliament to answer the questions within one month.

The parliament was on a three-week vacation ahead of last Friday's elections. Conservative opponents of Ahmadinejad won a majority of the seats.

Ahmadinejad has been under increasing attacks in recent months from the same hard-liners who brought him to power.
