John Daniels Jr., chair of the event, welcomes golfers.
If you were looking for a Milwaukee-area business executive Friday morning and couldn't find them, odds are they were at the Silver Spring Country Club.
More than 300 local business executives were at the Menomonee Falls golf course to participate in the Fellowship Open, a popular annual charity event that raises money for Milwaukee youth organizations. Over the past 12 years, the event has directed nearly $700,000 to nearly 60 youth organizations.
The event drew a VIP crowd, including John Daniels Jr., chief executive officer of Quarles & Brady LLP and chair of the Fellowship Open; Brad Chapin, BMO Harris executive vice president and top Milwaukee executive; John Steinmiller, Milwaukee Bucks vice president of business operations; Vincent Lyles, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee president and chief executive officer; and Thelma Sias, Wisconsin Energy Corp. vice president of local affairs.
Many Milwaukee-area firms also were involved in sponsoring the event, including Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc., Northwestern Mutual, MillerCoors, Johnson Controls Inc., Concours Motors and BMO Financial Group.
At the event, the group honored Wayne Embry, the first African-American general manager in all of professional sports, who spent several years leading the Milwaukee Bucks, and Sande Robinson, for work she did at Marquette University and with the Milwaukee Art Museum.
See the attached slideshow for photos from the event.
